Darrell, How Did You Develop Your Style?
Honestly, I don’t believe I developed my style as much as I believe my style developed me and made me into the artist I am today. I have had no formal artistic education,I am self taught. The style that I do have is all my own. I don’t like the feeling I’m copying someone elses style ,I like being me and doing some things my way. I even prefer using a wooden matchstick,I don’t use brushes.
What Mediums Do You Prefer?
Presently, I am using and prefer acrylics. In the past I have sketched with a charcoal pencil , and have started out using pastels. I haven’t tried oils ,perhaps that may become an entity for the future.
What Else Are You Up To?
I have recently joined the Duxbury Art Association, here in Duxbury,Mass., near my home. I go to a park every morning with my dog and have breakfast.I get a lot of inspiration from the wildness of this park, my dog likes it there too.
What Are Your Goals within the ETChster Community?
My goal no matter where I am or go is to become the most creative artist that I can be.I don’t strive to be better than anyone else, I strive to be better today than I was yesterday. In a nutshell I want to be good at what I do and o be able to be the best at it.
Are You Open to Collaborating?
I think networking is a good way to learn what we need to know and to find the things we may need along the way.
