Karen, What Started You on Your Creative Path?
I’ve been sketching and painting since I can remember. Being a quiet kid, I loved sitting alone drawing or taking photographs. I’m a dress designer and often incorporate my art into my work.
How Did You Develop Your Style?
My style has developed over time, and I love experimenting with different techniques and mediums. I enjoy playing with colour, shades and shadows.
What Mediums Do You Prefer?
If I had to pick one I’d go with sketching, but I enjoy working with acrylics and creating large colorful pieces on canvas.
Where Can You & Your Work Be Found?
I live in Johannesburg and have recently started a YouTube channel which I am in the process of developing. My focus is on humanity and social issues facing our world today, particularly homelessness and poverty, and I will be featuring my art within the platform. The channel is called Pro Humanity Hub.
What Else Are You Up To?
I’m a dress designer. I design and make wedding gowns and other event attire all of which can be found on Facebook and Instagram under my brand name KMDesigns.
What Are Your Goals within the ETChster Community?
My goals within ETChster are to gain visibility for my work, and to be part of a like-minded group of artists.
