The traffic tracker feature is for the many ETChster community members who are in the art business, using their catalog to keep track of owned pieces of work and their website to convert new fans and offer pieces for sale.

Getting works cataloged and an online presence are steps in the right direction, but many members want to increase their sales and don’t know how to do it.

One critical piece is understanding how many people make their way into your sales funnel. If you know how many people arrive on your art website, you can then determine whether or not you may need to improve your storytelling, photos, etc. to motivate more visitors to contact you.

As a Creator, you can now check your traffic on a calendar month basis in ETChster Lite on both your home screen and when looking at your own public profile.

*Note: This feature was released in mid-April 2021, so you’ll see traffic from that point forward.

Sales Funnel

A series of steps that a stranger passes through to understand and then purchase something. The top or wider portion is where the journey begins and the narrowest part or bottom is where purchase occurs.

For community members seeking more sales, a bigger funnel is required. More specifically, you have to increase the top end of the funnel to convert more strangers to fans and purchasers at the narrow end.

A common misconception for artists who are new to marketing is that simply having a website will generate enough traffic to generate a steady stream of new sales.

In 2020, Google had over 130 trillion web pages indexed.

That’s over 16 thousand web pages per living human.

The good news is that there are lots of ways to build traffic. In fact, you’ll find a series of lessons on the topic in your dashboard.

This new feature has a lesson on how to use it. Hint: it’s very easy to understand.

More importantly, the traffic tracker was added to give users visibility into how their marketing efforts are going.

  • If you haven’t yet added your profile to your email signature, there’s a lesson on how to do that. Once you’ve done it, you can actually see the impact on visits.
  • Want to measure the impact of a social media post? Check your traffic, make the post and then check your traffic again after 24 hours.

You get the idea.

For Pro users, be on the lookout for the new analytics module’s capabilities shortly.
