Art:Crate – Original Artwork Exhibited in Your Home Monthly
How does it work?
Art:Crate works directly with collectible local artists from the Metro-Atlanta area to provide you with 5 unique, original artworks each month. On your monthly Refresh date, the artworks on display at your home are removed, and you receive 5 new works. Participating artists receive royalties and commissions when their art is out on Exhibition, so not only do you get amazing artwork to beautify your home or office, you also can contribute to creating a sustainable cultural ecosystem for your community. Feels good, doesn’t it?
So I can build an art collection just by subscribing to Art:Crate?
That’s right! Part of Art:Crate’s mission is to grow Atlanta’s collector culture and provide sustainable income for its artists. We believe that when you uplift artists, you uplift society. And you’re an integral part of that mission! We want to help you find the collecting style that’s right for you, or if you’re already a seasoned collector, to introduce you to new art and artists.
How much does it cost?
You pay a simple monthly subscription of $199 by credit card with a 6-month commitment for the Beta program. Sign Up Now
You’ll receive 5 original works monthly with White Glove installation included.
At the end of the Beta, you can cancel your subscription or do nothing and you’ll automatically continue your Art:Crate service into the next season.
If you do the math, you’ll pay roughly the cost of a single piece of art over the course of a year, but have the pleasure of living with 60 pieces on display in your home or office.
What if I want to keep one of the pieces?
That’s great! All Art:Crate works are available for purchase at the stated price by credit card. As soon as you purchase a piece, it will be replaced in its traveling collection. You may be offered pay-over-time options as part of the Beta.
What if the art gets damaged at my house?
Contact us immediately with a photo of the damage and we’ll contact the artist to determine if the work can be repaired. If it is repairable, depending on the extent of the damage, we may collect a repair fee to pay the artist for their time repairing the work. If the work is damaged beyond repair, you will be charged for the retail value, so please treat the art with the utmost respect and care.
What kind of art am I going to get?
An eclectic mix of styles, media, and genres. Specific pieces depend on which artists are participating and which works are currently available, but all art is from professional local artists with an exhibition history, and all works are wall mounted.
How big is it going to be/how much space does it need?
This also depends on which pieces are available, but we try to get a mix of sizes. No piece will be larger than approximately 40” on either side, and we will notify you of the sizes of the works you will be receiving that month ahead of the installation date.
What do I do with art I own/currently on my walls?
That’s up to you. In the future, we may offer storage plans but for the Beta program, it is the collector’s responsibility to store existing work if needed. On your first install date, Art:Crate’s White Glove team, including our artist, curator, and founder, Nathan Sharratt, will be happy to help with arrangement of work in your home.
Will my walls get damaged?
Professional picture-hanging J-hooks use small nails and create minimal impact to standard drywall walls, and all artworks will have lower bumpers to protect the wall. We also have the option of using 3M hanging tape for lighter works which remove cleanly but require a smooth wall with no texture.
How do I get started?
It’s simple. Follow these steps:
- Log in or create a free ETChster profile below.
- Connect your payment method of choice. Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.
- Let us know where you’ll want to install the art and how to reach you.
- That’s it! If you’re approved, we’ll contact you to arrange setup and your first monthly payment will be charged December 1st, 2019.
Who are the artists behind the work I will receive?
Art:Crate is a start-up by artist Nathan Sharratt and ETChster incubating in the SeedWorks Lab.
